How to verify a Practice OS invitation

A practice can invite its accounting firm or its MSO to see its books. Here is what a real invitation looks like, and what it never asks.

What a real invitation looks like

• The link opens on this site and its path starts with /login.html?invite=. Nothing else - no redirector, no tracking link, no shortened URL.
• The first thing you see is the disclosure: which practice invited you, into what perspective, the sentence stating exactly what you will and will not see, whether a Business Associate Agreement is involved, the address the invitation was sent to, and when it expires. That page asks for nothing.
• Only after that does it offer a way to sign in - Google, or setting a password for the invited address on this site. The address you sign in with must be the address the invitation names.
• An invitation lives seven days, dies on first use, and a newer link from the same practice replaces any older one.

What Practice OS never does

• Never asks for a password by email, and never sends a form to type one into. Practice OS does not send invitation emails at all: the person inviting you passes the link on themselves.
• Never asks for a one-time code, a card number, or a bank account in an invitation.
• Never asks you to accept on someone else's behalf. If the invitation names a different address, choose "Report it" on the page: the practice is told the link reached the wrong person.

If something looks wrong

Do not enter anything. Write to dmitri@physiciansai.com with the link (or a screenshot) and the address it was sent to; you will get a reply from a person.
